Tricia Benn: Nursery Manager, Silky Seals Pre-school

Keri Lees introduced Leaps and Bounds to Silky Seals on Wednesday 30th of January 2008 for a 7-week programme. The programme catered for children aged 2 to 4 years. On each Wednesday, the 2 to 3 year olds would have a variety of activities to perform which was intended to increase confidence, physical ability, raise self esteem and encourage children to have fun. The programme for the 3-4 year olds was more intense for their age and ability and related well to the Early learning Goals.

All of the children have really enjoyed doing new physical activities. It has encouraged both fine and gross motor skills. Keri is very good with the children; she is patient and very calming to the children’s individual needs. At the end of every session Keri gives the children achievement stickers, which they thoroughly enjoy, and they show their parents what they have done during the session.
